With the theological virtues and temperance out of the way... we have to start getting into some more difficult material. The virtue of the day is FORTITUDE, and I don't know about you but that sounds like it requires some courage.
VIRTUE OF THE DAY: Fortitude
The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines fortitude as...
1808 Fortitude is the moral virtue that ensures firmness in difficulties and constancy in the pursuit of the good. It strengthens the resolve to resist temptations and to overcome obstacles in the moral life. The virtue of fortitude enables one to conquer fear, even fear of death, and to face trials and persecutions. It disposes one even to renounce and sacrifice his life in defense of a just cause. "The Lord is my strength and my song." "In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
Day 12 Challenge: You have been working very hard on your #SmartFreedom Challenge. Today we pray for the fortitude to talk to the people in our life that make our #SmartFreedom more difficult to obtain. Who in your life keeps you chained to your phone? How would you begin a conversation about that? Who in your life needs to think about detaching from his or her phone? What can you do to help? What act of courage do you need to make to set an example? to make an invitation? to be the change you want to see?
Let's pursue good together!
